The Masters & The Modern: Eastern Edition brought into focus a compelling dialogue between early Bengal practitioners and later modernists, tracing the evolution of artistic language in eastern India. The exhibition welcomed a strong and engaged footfall over its duration, reflecting growing interest in regional narratives within Indian modernism. Two specially curated walkthroughs with the gallery curator, offered audiences deeper insight into the works, unpacking stylistic transitions, material choices, and historical contexts. By placing these works in conversation, the show revealed continuities in identity, spirituality, and everyday life, while highlighting shifts in form and intent across generations. The show was also part of the programming for Bengaluru Art Weekend that took place between 28th March and 5th April across various art venues in the city.
