The Artists’ Initiative Program (AIP) is our platform to identify and promote artistic talent. With the backing of Principal Patron Sandeep & Gitanjali Maini Foundation (SGMF), the initiative is tailor-made to suit each artist’s genre and requirements.

SGMF, which was established to carry out and build on Gallery G’s non-commercial activities, supports and promotes art and culture at various levels, be it individually and at biennales. While SGMF provides the grant for the artists, and for various programs, Gallery G offers the space to display and exhibit their works.

A 5th generation descendant of Raja Ravi Varma, Jay follows in his illustrious ancestor’s footsteps, carrying the legacy of one of India’s greatest artist’s forward. Having trained at Studio Incamminati, Philadelphia, Jay, who plunged into the world of oil paints from pencil sketches, is all set to exhibit his solo series of works titled Panchakanya shortly.

One of our top draws for 2021-22, Salman Khan has been pursuing his passion for painting, away from the world’s eyes over the last 15 years. Following a first exhibition in Dubai in 2009, Salman, whose works are non-commercial, has chosen to keep his art only for private viewing. Having evolved as an artist in the years hence, Salman’s latest work Immortal: Selfless In A Selfish World was displayed at Gallery G as part of the launch of SGMF on Google Arts and Culture, in February.

Priya Gaekwar

She has been artistically inclined from a young age. Creative, versatile and intuitive, her career is an interesting mix of art, fashion and design in several areas. Priya is one of the first abstract artist to have come on board Gallery G’s program.
In 2006, she began a career in luxury retail with the iconic brand Louis Vuitton. Here she immersed herself in the world of high-level design, craftsmanship and attention to detail. The brands artistic collaborations and patronage of the arts presented a constant and steady focus on creativity and design. She exhibited her first solo show at Gallery G in July 2021.

His works encompass a range of media and themes - intricate pen and ink drawings, paintings on brass, sculpture and mixed media on canvas. Dinesh’s works are unique and is perhaps, the only artist to create art in this genre. The clarity and accuracy of lines and flawless demarcation of compositional elements in each work clearly highlight Magar’s exceptional skill and precision. Magar has an exclusive tie-up with Swarovski and embellishes his works using the crystal elements for that extra sparkle and rich effect.

Sangeeta’s journey that has endeavoured to unravel the many wondrous and mystical facets of the life and times Lord Buddha is incomparable. Her paintings are therefore unique and the subject, universal and timeless. Her impressive works of art have earned praise from renowned individuals including His Holiness the Dalai Lama, noted lyricist Gulzarsaab, and well-known art researcher and painter Dr. Pushpa Dravid.

Born and brought up in Kumta (Coastal Karnataka), Ganapati’s love for fine arts was influenced and instilled in him very early on by his maternal grandfather, himself an artist. He has won many awards, including the 52nd National Award from Lalit Kala Academy and the Camlin National Award from Camlin Art Foundation. He has a Diploma in Art from the Ken School of Art, a Bachelor of Art from Karnataka University and Master in Fine Arts (External) from Bengaluru Open University. He lives and works in Bangalore.
